CES: Mac touchscreen displays go widescreen

While Apple pioneered touchscreens with the launch of its iPhone in 2007 and later with the iPad, it is yet to sell a touchscreen MacBook, iMac, or for its users to pinch, swipe and sketch on.

At this month’s CES, Alogic announced a larger, widescreen 32-inch version of the monitor: the Clarity Max Touch 32-inch UHD 4K Touchscreen Monitor, which fits into a new family of Clarity displays.

The 32-inch Clarity Max 4K UHD glossy monitor is available as a 10-point multi-touch touchscreen and a standard display. Like the 27-inch models, each display can charge at 65W.

Both studio-grade models deliver larger landscape screens aimed at professionals seeking a more immersive viewing experience. The screen can tilt and swivel and be set to portrait or landscape modes.

With HDR400 support, 350 nits and a 3000:1 contrast ratio, the Clarity Max line-up delivers crisp contrasts between deep blacks and eye-catching brightness, claims Alogic.

Select models include a built-in, retractable 8-megapixel webcam. All feature a USB hub and adjustable stand.
