Coalition for App Fairness is fighting three subpoenas from Apple

Monday July 19, 2021. 10:14 PM , from Mac Minute
The Coalition for App Fairness is fighting three subpoenas from Apple requesting access to internal communications, under claims it could enable Apple to retaliate against its members, reports AppleInsider.
The group has entered a filing  the US District Court for the District of Columbia on July 8. The Coalition wants to stop Apple from executing subpoenas, which the tech giant has served in connection to a pair of antitrust class-action lawsuits, according to AppleInsider.
The Coalition for App Fairness (CAF) was formed in 2020. It’s an advocacy group urging increased regulation over app stores and fair treatment for all developers.
The CAF says it strives to ensure that the forthcoming EU regulation on gatekeeper platforms reflects the 10 “App Store Principles,” a series of guiding rules to establish a fair standard of conduct across the app ecosystem. These principles are designed to ensure that every app developer, regardless of size or the nature of its business, is entitled to a level playing field and fair treatment by the app stores and the platform owners who operate them according to Damien Geradin, the Coalition’s outside counsel.
