Apple releases iOS 13, iPadOS, macOS Catalina, and tvOS 13 public betas

Tuesday June 25, 2019. 01:00 PM , from Power Page
If you’re feeling brave, iOS 13, iPadOS, macOS Catalina, and tvOS 13 have all entered public beta.

As such, you can download and install them now, giving you the first crack at these new operating systems outside of Apple’s developer program. These betas will update periodically, culminating in the final release, which are expected towards the end of the summer. The final releases are thought to be timed around the new hardware announcements made at Apple’s annual September event.

As always, the usual word of warning about beta software: These releases may seem stable, but they could contain bugs that won’t be squashed until the final releases roll out later in 2019. So unless you don’t mind rolling the dice with app compatibility and other issues that could impact battery life and other critical functions, perhaps it’s best to wait, difficult as that may be.

In addition, please be sure to back up your data first, head over to beta.apple.com to sign in with your Apple ID account, follow the instructions on the web site (and linked below) and you’re off to the races.

Please have fun and be careful out there and let us know how your experience with the new betas went in the comments.
