BBEdit upgraded to version 12.0.6 with 88 discrete additions and changes
Monday February 25, 2019. 09:40 PM , from Mac Minute
Bare Bones Software has released BBEdit 12.0.6 (https://www.barebones.com/products/bbedit/), an update to its professional strength HTML and text editor. It’s a recommended update that includes refinements and fixes for specific reported issues.
The upgrade includes 88 discrete additions, changes and fixes addressing all manner of “quality of life” issues from improved performance to user interface refinements. In addition, BBEdit 12.6 introduces architectural changes for compatibility with macOS App Sandboxing, a set of security policies and practices from Apple. The App Sandboxing model endeavors to ensure privacy and data security for macOS users, and serves as a requirement for BBEdit’s participation in the Mac App Store. “App Sandboxing brings real and valuable benefits, but as users of an advanced developer tool, our customers frequently push the security model to its limits,” says Rich Siegel, founder and CEO of Bare Bones Software. “I’m proud that we’ve been able to make BBEdit work within the limits imposed by the App Sandboxing model, while preserving the performance and user experience that our customers expect.” BBEdit 12.6 also includes enhancements and refinements to existing features, and fixes for specific reported issues. It’s a recommended (and free) update to all registered customers with BBEdit 12. BBEdit 12 requires macOS 10.12.6 or later. It has a suggested retail price of $49.99. A demo is available for download. The post BBEdit upgraded to version 12.0.6 with 88 discrete additions and changes appeared first on MacTech.com.
