Two months ago, the CDC's FoodNet, a partnership between the CDC, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the FDA, and several states that has monitored foodborne infections since 1995, quietly stopped tracking six of eight pathogens that cause foodborne illnesses. As of July 1, FoodNet (the Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network) will only require the tracking of foodborne infections caused by Salmonella and Shiga toxin-producing E. — Read the rest
