Glomensio’s Firefly illuminated house numbers could save a life
Wednesday January 8, 2025. 02:00 PM , from PC World
That’s not hyperbole: The numbers aren’t just illuminated, anytime you make a 911 call, the numbers will begin flashing red and blue to make it easier for first responders to pinpoint your home while they’re driving down the street. Glomensio What’s more, the sign can also send alerts to trusted neighbors who might be able to help in an emergency during the 8 to 12 minutes you’re waiting for those first responders to knock on your door. And thanks to its smart home connectivity, the sign can even trigger your door to unlock in case you can’t do it yourself. The Firefly Gen 2 can change colors for other purposes as well. It can be set to glow green when you’re waiting for a delivery or a rideshare pickup, for instance. At other times, the numbers will glow a bright white, or with an upcoming firmware update, any custom color you choose. Glomensio The polycarbonate house numbers attach to the illuminated waterproof box with magnets. The box itself plugs into an ordinary AC outlet, either inside the house (if you don’t mind drilling a hole, it would look much more attractive) or to a nearby outdoor outlet. “Our work at Glomensio focuses on first-of-a-kind solution [for] those crucial first 10 minutes [after a medical emergency],” said Glomensio Co-Founder Drew Timler, a former USAF Veteran & ICU Nurse. “[Firefly] empowers the neighbors and communities to bridge the gap, providing immediate life sustaining assistance such as CPR that makes all the difference.” The Glomensio Firefly is available now at Amazon for $299.00
