Dare the Video Test #2 – Friday Scratch

Sunday April 4, 2021. 10:26 PM , from Muzicosphere
A big desire to play the guitar this morning … But like, just want to send in completely lazy without research!! Hop, I turned 2/3 playback and then I thought “here and if you plugged the AFN to make a shot just for fun!!” … And then at one point I thought “hey but you could also record on the sequencer and then make a comparison quickly done” …

And so here is a Friday Noodling as a small support to show the difference in sound between an ambient socket with the microphone of the AFN and a direct sound via the sound card and then editing sound/ video!
Edifying, isn’t it?
The editing is done in Windows Movie Maker which has the advantage of being in the default programs provided with your PC. It is relatively intuitive and has a lot of preset video effects, transition, etc… A good way to start in video editing but that has to show its limits quite quickly especially by its limitation in the formats supported in the sequential editing table.
The first part of the video shows the taking via the AFN microphone without any sound retouching.
The second part of the video shows the same video sequence but the sound captured via the APN microphone is mutated and instead I stalled the sound track recorded in Magix Music Studio (which you can also see progressing to the bottom left). I just lowered a bit the volume of the track its added.
The direct take via the Tonelab and the sound card, I find it quite the restriction near that we lose the atmosphere aspect of the room (well at the same time I overlook the street with a constant stream of cars so a lot of unbearable background noise). From the test perspective of a guitar, I will not use this method for this reason on the one hand, but also because amp modelers tend to erase the characteristics of a guitar (at this game for that matter, the Tonelab is perhaps the one that does best). On the other hand if my goal is to test and show the possibilities of the Tonelab … Undeniably I will prefer this method!
Next time I will do a screencast of the video editing to see a little more detail how the editing is done … And then we’ll try a lot of other little things… We’re making progress in refinement, aren’t we? Remarks??
