Focusrite Announces Clarett USB Interfaces
Thursday January 11, 2018. 05:00 PM , from Sweetwater inSync
Ahead of NAMM 2018, Focusrite gave Sweetwater a sneak peek at their new range of Clarett USB audio interfaces. These interfaces are loaded with all of the same features as their popular Thunderbolt-equipped brethren, and offer impressively low round-trip latency. The only difference is that they offer USB 2.0 connectivity, which makes them compatible with virtually every modern Mac and PC out there.
These Clarett USB interfaces are loaded with ample amounts of I/O and are available in 2-, 4-, and 8-preamp configurations. These pristine mic preamps are equipped with Focusrite’s “Air” circuit, which supplies you with the sound of the renowned transformer-based ISA mic pre. Everything is piped through Focusrite’s class-leading 24-bit/192kHz conversion, which exhibits ultra-clean sound and an impressive 119dB of dynamic range.
The streamlined 2- and 4-preamp interfaces are great for singer-songwriters and home studios. The feature-rich 8-preamp interface makes a great centerpiece for project studios, thanks to a multichannel LED meter, digital input and main monitor output metering, and a comprehensive monitor section with a level control and Dim and Mute buttons. All three models feature wide dynamic range front-panel headphone outputs.
These USB audio interfaces are compatible with Focusrite Control, a software mixer for your Mac, PC, or iOS device. This software makes configuring your monitoring and routing setups a breeze — it’s as easy to use as a traditional mixer. You also get a value-packed bundle with software from XLN Audio, Focusrite, Softube, Ableton, and Loopmasters.
If you’ve been eyeballing Focusrite’s Clarett Thunderbolt interfaces but own a USB-equipped computer, you’ll soon be able to stop coveting and start recording!
