Korg revs Legacy Collection adding Arp Odyssey plugin
Saturday December 23, 2017. 06:29 AM , from MacOSX Audio
The Arp Odyssey was designed with the advisory assistance of Arp Instruments cofounder David Friend. Rather than using generic modeling techniques that simulate output sound, Korg digitized the transistors, condensers, and resistors used in the hardware. The software includes the 3 different filters originating from the different dates of production, going back to 1972, and the drive circuitry which were features of the hardware Arp Odyssey brought back by Korg in 2015.
The Korg Collection is available now for $249, with an introductory price of $149 until 31 January 2018. It requires macOS 10.10 or later and a 64-bit AU or VST plugin host. AAX support is coming in a future update. Korg Legacy Collection owners can upgrade to Korg Collection for $49.99. Arp Odyssey is also available separately for $69.99.
Korg is simultaneously shutting down Korg User Net and moving members over to a new Korg.com system, via a coupon-based repurchasing “upgrade” system. See korguser.net for details.
