What is the best electric guitar under £400?
Monday January 30, 2012. 04:40 PM , from MusicRadar
How do you buy your first proper electric guitar? For most fledgling guitarists, price is the bottom line. Back in July 2009 we solicited your opinions in a quest to find the ultimate entry-level electric, and the resulting bloody battle saw Epiphone's ES-335 Dot come out on top of 20 other instruments to be crowned the best guitar under £300. Fast-forward to 2012 and we're paying more for our petrol, our clothes, our food and our guitars too. To reflect inflation and the wallet-troubling effects of the global economic nosedive, our ceiling price has gone up. This time around, we want to know what you think is the best electric guitar in the world today under £400. The rules are simple, it has to be a current production model, with average street prices under 400 GBP. Whether it's a single-pickup archtop jazzer or a multi-humbuckered shred machine with a double-locking whammy matters not; it simply has to be an electric guitar that costs less than 400 quid new. Once we have plenty of nominations we'll collate them into a shortlist and open the voting. What are you waiting for? Nominate your favourites in the comments section below, or via Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #bestguitarunder400. Let battle commence!
