Apple faces class-action lawsuit over ‘alleged’ Mac laptop defects
Wednesday September 15, 2021. 11:27 PM , from Mac Minute
Another day, another lawsuit. As noted by MacRumors, Apple is facing a class-action lawsuit in the U.S. The lawsuit, filed this week in the Northern District of California accuses the tech giant of false and deceptive marketing regarding the M1-powered MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, fraudulent business practices, misconduct in customer support, and violation of consumer law.
The lawsuit accuses Apple of purposely deceiving customers by extolling the quality of the displays in the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. This despite reports of cracking screens on the laptops. The plaintiffs want: ° Apple to admit that the laptop screens are defective; ° Apple to notify owners of the laptop of the defect; ° Apple to stop “further deceptive distribution and sales practices”; ° Apple to award owners of defective laptops with a monetary settlement to be awarded at a trial.
