Apple’s Shazam has identified over a billion songs in the iOS/iPadOS Control Center

Monday September 13, 2021. 04:01 PM , from Mac Minute
As noted by Wcctech, Apple’s Shazam service has announced that a billion songs have been identified from the Control Center ever since the button’s inception in iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 for, respectively, the iPhone and iPad.
With those operating system updates, Apple added a toggle switch for Shazam straight into Control Center, allowing you to identify a song with a single swipe and then a tap.
Shazam is a music recognition app that Apple acquired in 2018 for US$400. Last year it passed 200 monthly active users worldwide. It’s available as a standalone app and as a built-in feature on the iPhone and iPad.
