macOS 11.2/11.2.1 DVD Playback causes CVM Server Crash (M1 Mini)

(This bug is not fixed in macOS 11.2.1.) See post for details. Repeatable in macOS 11.2/11.2.1, was not a problem in macOS 11.1. (M1 mini with Apple USB Superdrive connected via Apple USB-C to USB adapter. No issues previously.)
